National Independence Day in Poland

Poland lost its independence in 1775 and regained it in 1918 when the World War I ended. We celebrate the National Independence Day on 11th November. It is our national holiday. On this day people in Poland take part in parades organized all over the country and decorate their houses with national flags.


Below you can find some information about two symbols of our country.


The National Flag of Poland

The Polish National Flag consists of two equally wide horizontal stripes. These stripes are white and red. The white colour symbolizes purity and the red colour symbolizes courage.

The Emblem of Poland
Another symbol of our country is a white eagle on a red shield. The eagle has got a crown on its head. It’s our National Emblem.
